About The Festival

The opening night of the first ever Prague festival and Ravel’s Bolero feels like a world away. And to be fair it was. This was back in June 2005. Over the course of the following seventeen years, the festival has presented hundreds of concerts to Prague audiences, including countless musicians who were visiting our country for the first time ever.
These have included Natalie Cole, Angelique Kidjo, Vince Mendoza, Danny Elfman, Vladimir Cosma, Ennio Morricone and many more.
Along with Steven Mercurio, we’re proud to present you with a number of juicy projects this year.
On top of tried and tested classics, jazz and crossover, this year’s Prague Proms promises to deliver that bit extra.
We can look forward to welcoming the New York based Jeremy Winston Chorale, one of the world's top gospel choirs, who will perform two concerts. The first promises to deliver a gospel tornado at the Municipal House while the second, alongside The Loop Jazz Orchestra, will pay tribute to the legendary Blues Brothers.
Alongside the CNSO, the first-class Czech Philharmonic Choir of Brno will be performing some of the most acclaimed choral scenes, while all are invited to the St Barbara’s Cathedral in Kutná Hora to celebrate our trumpeter colleague, Jan Burian’s 80th birthday.
Meanwhile the writer and cellist Zuzana Dostálová and friends will be paying our jazz club a visit bringing along Self-Sufficient, a wonderful story by Lukáš Hejlík, Jiří Ressler and Markéta Lánská. Also at The Loop Jazz Club Hostivař you can also look forward to checking out the jazz projects Let's Remember Chet Baker, Jan Andr, or the distinguished singer Morgane Ji featuring conductor and Grammy Award winner Gast Waltzing.
Finally we’ll be playing host to the highly anticipated premiere of a concert with Radek Pastrňák & CNSO under the direction of Steven Mercurio, where listeners can expect to hear the most widely acclaimed hits from his band Buty with arrangements for symphony orchestra.
Prague Proms 2022 is committed to turning up the joy factor to levels we haven’t experienced since before the ‘big pause’ of Covid.

We can’t wait to see you!
